life without a lens
What?
A pinhole camera is a simple camera without a lens but with a tiny aperture, a pinhole – effectively a light-proof box with a small hole in one side. Why does the image appear upside down? Light travels in a straight line, and when it is reflected off something, its flipped upside-down in the camera.

In this photo, the person is blurred, portraying their distress in Steven Dempseys photo titled "despair." This photo was taken using a pinhole camera and creates a ghosting effect, emphasizing the artists intent to portray feelings.
Abelardo Morell achieves this effect by covering all windows with black plastic in order to achieve total darkness. Then cuts a small hole in the material that covers the windows. This opening allows an inverted image of the view outside to flood onto the back walls of the room. This creates interesting visuals with the use of pattern, line, and composition
This work was done by Cameron Gillie and intrigues me because the lines are obscured near the top of the image. It doesn't have the same ghosting effect of objects in motion, but is still an interesting art piece incorporating darks and whites to achieve contrast and gain the viewers eye.
